Hello TI,

I am working TPS25750 and i am new on PD controller, I want to configure TPS25750 how i can configure it..?

1.I want configure TPS25750 by using Host controller by using I2C communication, i want step by step process for it, Please try to send relevant document which help for me.

2.TI tool for PD configuration, it's generate directly hex or bin file, how i can use this by to configure TPS25750 using host controller.

3. i also want configure Bq25730 Battery charging IC by using TPS25750, TPS25750 and BQ25730 supported IT as per the both part datasheet.

Rahul,

1. The process to configure the TPS25750 via I2C is described in this document. TPS25750 Host Interface Technical Reference Manual

2. The binary file is generated in intel hex format. It needs to be converted into a C-array for you MCU to use to write the data to the TPS25750 using the host interface commands detailed in the TRM. The next revision of the GUI that will be released in a few weeks adds an option to export a c-array for the PBM flow.

3. The configuration that is supported is provided in the WEB GUI, we do not support 100% of the BQ25730 configuration, just a small subset that is involved with the type C negotiation.

I was not able to get example C code that can be shared. I am now looking for a better diagram and the I2C capture of the boot procedure.

I have now found the required data, but it is water marked as requiring an NDA to release.

This data has the sample C code as well as a good diagram, but it is going to take a little while for me to get permission to release it and remove the watermark for this section of the document.

So right now how you are pushing your patch when the tps25750 is in patch mode. how to change the mode from patch to boot mode

Chirag and Rahul,

You are both approaching similar solutions, but I believe that your needs are slightly different.

Chirag,

We are working to see if we can use the EnablHighVoltage mode and still use the host interface to modify configuration without loading the patch and configuration code. This will be substantially less memory for you MCU if we are able to support this mode.

Rahul,

If you are able to tollerate 20V in your system, then we can follow the same trajectory that Chirag is using to save memory and effort.

Please let me know if you are able to support this solution. I am verifying with our systems team that this is a viable option for us to attempt.

Dear Chuck,

Thank you for the feedback, yes we can go with 20V and 5Amp Default, but we also need to control the voltage in various cases, so once the default voltage is available, our system will boot up and everything will be up and running including battery charging, but there might be few cases in which we need voltage control for which we will do it with host and memory is not an issue for us, so if you release the sample code, we will test the same

Hello,

In general, we need a Wattage of more than or equal to 60 Watt, based on that we will be calculating the voltage and current.

To start with you can provide us an example for 12/15 Volt and 20 Volt.

I have worked with our GUI team this morning and we have found an issue that does not allow PDO's other than 5, 9,15, and 20V in the current release.

I will generate with 15 and 20V for you to get started later today.

Ajit,

The issue that we are trying to address has brought out a bug in how I was interfacing with the 25792 charger. I am working to come up with a robust solution that resolves a dead battery release.

I am in debug, so it is really difficult to provide a specific timeline. I will udpate you later this week once I have a better handle on the status.
