HD3SS3220: What's the current mode pin function?

Part Number: HD3SS3220

We know that in the type C communication, how much current can be supplied through the CC pin (USB Type-C Current modes or USB Power Delivery). Since the rated current that can be provided is determined by CC, what is the effect of the pin current setting of current mode? When I set it to 900mA with a PD request 1.5A, how will HD3SS3220 act? Stop working or only 900mA available? Thanks.
