DS90UB941AS-Q1: customized image shaking up and down

Part Number: DS90UB941AS-Q1

Hi Expert,

Our customer use 941 pair 948. They observe display screen shakes vertically up and down. Below is the detailed description and some video taking.

As you can see, there are two images. One is customized and other one is color bar. With both images, the 941 pclk comes from SOC. The difference is, customized image data come from SOC, but the color bar image data comes from 941. The point our customer insist is that, they cannot tell whether color bar is shaking vertically or not because the color is vertical too. They can't notice even if color bar is really shaking like the customized image. They switch to all the test pattern and they say it's the same for every pattern, which is not so good to observe. So our customer requests, can we generate horizontal color bar? From my side, I want to know, what's the next step for this case? What else test can we perform? Thanks a lot for help!

  • Elec,

Please share the timing spec for this panel along with the timing configuration for the SoC. There is no way to generate a horizontal color bar inside 941AS as I mentioned in our other thread. I suspect that the vertical timing is inconsistent from the SOC side which is the cause of this issue. We need to know if the SoC is in pulse or event mode and also we need to check if the SoC is providing consistent packet timing in the DSI stream like what is described in this app note section 4.3 https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/snla356

    Best Regards,
