DS90UB953A-Q1: The DS90UB953 transmission issue: if we use the 2G FPD-LINK Circuit for downspeed for link with 934, then is it possible also can tansmit to 960 without modification fPD-LINK circuit

Part Number: DS90UB953A-Q1

Initial we design the camera by mipi with DS90UB953 for transmission to DS90UB960 used 4G FPD-LINK Circuit.

Then our customer need us for double deserializer the DS90UB934 and DS90UB960 by different ECU boxes.

So we modify the FPD-LINK circuits from 4G downgrade to 2G for both using.

We want check it if we downgrade the circuit to 2G,is it still could using for DS90UB960 without modify circuits.

Please help us check is it have any risk or be care consider issue before using it.

  • Hello,

So the two networks are optimized to work at the respective speeds.  The 2G network could work with the 960/953 pair however the 4G network would perform better.  As long as you can prove that the channel still meets our spec at the speed you are trying to operate at then the link will be fine.

  • Thanks Nick quickly response,I have more one issue for this question, if we use the 4G FPD-LINK circuit (no modification to 2G circuit), is it also could use to stable transfer the POC signals to 934 received ? Because from the TI offical datasheet  "DS90UB953-Q1Backwards Compatibility Modes for Operation With Parallel Output Deserializers" could not find any command need to change the 4G to 2G bias-T circuits

So it confuse me let us worry need change the 4G circuits for using two different deserdes 934/960 ?

  • If the 953 is being paired with the 934 then the FPD-Link channel would be operating at the lower speed of the 934 and therefore the 2G network would perform better.  With the said the 4G network could still work but I would recommend going with the 2G network if possible.

    Regards,

    Nick
