Hi Erika,

I hope you are doing good.

I want to put my design to esd protection. That's why, I realized TPD4E02B04-Q1 ESD Protection Diode.

However I am not doing high speed design. I am doing only USB charging the USB Type-C ports. (DCDC Converter, USB 2.0).

Can this diode also using for DM, DP, CC1 and CC2 pins?

the reason why I insist on using this diode is because it is bidirectional. Other ones are unidirectional.

Hi Mehmet,

I'm assuming you also want to protect the Vbus pin as well if you are doing USB-C charging. Can you tell me the voltage level on the Vbus pin? There are multiple voltage levels depending on what type of charging you are doing.

Hi Mehmet,

For the Vbus pin, I would recommend using either TVS0500 or TPD1E10B06. For the CC pins, I would recommend using TPD1E05U06. For the D+/D- pins, I would recommend using ESD122. TPD4E02B04 would not work because the CC pins go up to 5 V and TPD4E02B04 is only a 3.6 V device.
