TUSB2036

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB4020BI, TUSB2036

Hi,

I want to use TUSB2036, where the upstream is a USB2.0 port (USB2_DP, USB2_DN) comes from Intel CPU.

For my design I need two USB2.0 downstream ports for WWAN and WIFI M.2 Application.

Can this device be a good choice for my application?

BR,

Firas

  • Hello Firas,

Please be aware that the TUSB2036 is a USB 2.0 Full Speed hub, capable of 12 Mbps, not a USB 2.0 High Speed hub (480 Mbps).  Otherwise, yes the hub will work for this application.  If USB 2.0 HS is needed, the TUSB4020BI may be the better choice.

    Regards,

    JMMN

  • I checked. Unfortunately, one port of this hub will be connected to M.2 Wifi\BT module which needs USB 2.0 FS signals, but the other port will be connected to WWAN module which apparently needs USB 2.0 HS signals.

they don't specify the speed for WWAN. I'm using Sierra EM9191.

Please le me know if there is any chance we can use this device. we already bought 4K pcs from TUSB2036.

what is the minimal time at which we can still cancel and order TUSB4020BI  instead?

    BR,

    Firas

  • Hi Firas,

If you connect a USB HS device to a USB FS hub, the device will connect but the bandwidth will be limited to FS.

Did you order the parts from TI directly?

    Regards,

    JMMN

  • we ordered through the TI website.
under the name of Nina Meltser.
    the company name is Compulab.
    we bought 4000 pcs at @1.276 = 5,116$
I don't have the PO, I can send it tomorrow, but can you locate the order and cancel it now? it's urgent!
