AM26LS31: Does AM26LS31 input terminal have 5V tolerant capability?

Hello guys,

One of my customers is going to use AM26LS31 for their new products.
They have a question about input terminals of AM26LS31.
Could you please give me your reply for them?

Q. Do AM26LS31 input terminals(1A~4A ,G and /G) have 5V tolerant capability?

In other words, can the input terminals be applied 5V when AM26LS31 is powered off?

Given that this device doesn't have input clamp current (IIK) parameter in abs. max conditions of the datasheet, we know that there are no protection diodes that could be back biased to the supply/GND potentially causing damage to the device. This means when the device is powered off, applying 5V at the input will cause no harm to the device.

You can review this concept in the [FAQ] Clemens has attached.

We can also see that these positive/no-positive clamp diodes are not present in the driver/driver-EN schematics on pg. 1 of the datasheet.
