TUSB8020B-Q1: USB 3.0 cable length

Dear team,

USB 3.0 specs doesn't define the max cable length. Someone said that the max length is better to be smaller than 3m. Does our device will impact the length? What is our experienced length value?

Hi Sherry,

That's correct there isn't a stated max USB 3.0 cable length, it is dependent on the signal quality.

That said, all of our USB 3.x hubs have been tested with 3M USB 3.x cables or longer.

3M / 10ft cables are typically the longest commercially available USB 3.x cables used.
