Hi Team,
If the signal of PON interface is Burst type, our device (DS125MB203) can handle it or not? Customer is consulting about it. Thanks.
Best,
Stanley

Hi Stanley,
I am not very familiar with burst mode, so please correct me if my understanding of it is lacking.
My understanding is that the burst mode refers to sending bursts of data as needed, and while the line is idle, idle frames are sent.
If this is the case, the DS125MB203 should be able to handle this.
Thanks,
Drew
Hi Drew,
Below two figures are the application reference. There are still two questions customer is concerned about:
1. How long does it take for channel switching to stabilize?
2. After the channel is stable, whether the response time from idle to data is needed? And no data loss is must required.
In the meantime, do we have 1-lane solution similar function like DS125MB203? In customer system, they only need 1-lane one.
Best,
Stanley
Hi Drew,
Need to you help comment on below my following question, customer is pushing us. Many thanks for your helps in advance.

Hi Stanley,
Apologies for the delay.
1. How long does it take for channel switching to stabilize?
The typical mux switch time is 100 ns.
2. After the channel is stable, whether the response time from idle to data is needed? And no data loss is must required.
The typical response time from idle to data is 3.5 ns.
Unfortunately, we do not have a 1-lane solution similar to the DS125MB203.
Thanks,
Drew
