I've designed deserializer (DES) and serializer (SER) boards using DS90UB954 & 953 chips. The communication between the two boards happens with coaxial cable connected to UFL to SMA on DES(954) and SMA on SER(953), it also provides power to the SER from DES with PoC filters on both sides (PoC supply :12v@800mA).
On both SER and DES all the configurations (HW & SW) are followed wrt datasheets.
When the DES was connected to the host as a local I2C i was able to detect the device. After initializing the drivers of SER and DES, DES responded properly. But i was not able to detect the SER and camera connected as a remote I2C devices. i observed that LOCK and PASS are not setting high on the DES.
So, i tested DES and SER with the 954 & 953 EVMs in the following method.
1. HOST + (local I2C) DES > UFL to SMA(15cms) > SMA to FAKRA (2mts) > (Remote I2C)953Evm + Image Sensor = in this case, streaming happened but stops after inconsistent time intervals.
2. HOST + (local I2C) 954Evm > FAKRA to SMA (2mts) > (Remote I2C) SER + Image sensor = SER was detected but unable to detect the image sensor and also observed that clock to image sensor from SER was not generated.
Both test cases are done in Synchronous Mode.
Note : With EVMs on both sided the streaming was happened fine without any complications.
