DP83867CR: PHY cannot be recognized by third part switch

Please help to review attached circuit & block diagram.

DP83867CR cannot be recognized by third part chip (Ethernet switch) in our PCB.

I don't know is the design wrong of switch side or PHY side?

I cannot sure is PHY normal power on or not?

I can't find the signal of MDC & MDIO from switch(MAC) ,but we also doubt the signal is hang by DP83867CR

I have checked power voltage level (3.3V / 2.5V / 1.8V / 1.0V) & 25M signal for DP83867CR ,and there are all correct.

Could you help to check the schematic ,and provide some suggestion?

Hi Wendy,

I suggest we first debug whether the PHY is power-up or not.

Can you please check the following?

Voltage on RESET_N pin
Signalling on TRD_P/M for channels A,B,C,D
Current consumption from each of the supplies
Link-up with a link partner

Voltage on RESET_N pin >> 3.3V (I disconnect RESET from switch ,and pull low RESET pin of PHY by manual)

Signalling on TRD_P/M for channels A,B,C,D

Current consumption from each of the supplies

VDD1P0 : 9.9mA~13mA ;

VDDA1P8: 48uA~4mA

VDDA2P5: 2.26mA~18.07mA

VDDIO (3.3V): 9.95mA~10.06mA

Link-up with a link partner >> You mean connect RJ45 to external internet?

Hi Wendy,

Can you please connect the device to any other device/external internet and probe the signals LED_0, LED_1?

I see that schematic shared above doesn't have the connections of TD_P/M all the way to the RJ45. Can you please share them?
I'm particularly looking for connections of TD_P/M to magnetics.

Could you help to reply the question:

1. The current for 4 power domain I measured were lower than the level listed in datasheet,did it mean PHY work is not normal?

2. Are waveform of TRD_P/M for channels A,B,C,D I probed normal?

3. I remove R9/R10/Q1/Q2 of LED path (It means LED_0 & LED_1 are open),but DP83867CR still cannot be recognized by switch.

Is the strap pin setting correct?

Hi Wendy,

Thank you for the schematics. I couldn't find any problem with the schematic.

Can you please elaborate on the statement "DP83867CR cannot be recognized by third part chip"? If a read is performed, what is the read value observed?
Can you please check if the PHYDDR of 0x0 is used and none of the other devices connected to the switch have the same PHYADDR?

Hi Wendy,

The waveforms are not as per expectation. Can you please confirm that you are using a impedance probe? Can you please measure TD_P_A - TD_M_A using a high impedance differential probe?
