DP83848K: Question about layout of 50MHz oscillator reference clock input for RMII mode

Part Number: DP83848K

Dear TI Expert,

We have a general question for DP83848KSQ/NOPB. As we know, for RMII mode, we need a 50MHz oscillator reference clock input for X1. Meanwhile, we also need this reference clock signal for ‘ETH_RMII_REF_CLK’ pin of a MCU, as we understand it.

For layout, any precaution do we need to take? We mean do we need to place the oscillator in a mid place between PHY chip and MCU, or just really close to PHY chip? Since it is a one point (osc) to two points (PHY chip and MCU)high frequency clock signal connection, anything else we need to take care of?

If there is any reference sch or pcb design related to our case, please kindly point out.

Thanks.
