TPS65987DDK: About the processing method of PP_HV1 terminal of TPS65987

PP_HV1 is the system side of the internal power path and its okay to connect to GND.

Looking at the diagram below, if PP_HV1 is connect to GND, isn't it possible that the GATE of the FET is driven and shorted? 

How controlled the GATE of FET by HV Gate Control and Sense logic?

No problem, let me clarify. In your application, PPHV1 is not used and hence FET2 will never be ON. 

May I know the end application? is this for TBT4/USB4 device platform?

My application is NOT use TBT4/USB4.

My application is use USB PD(5V 3A) and source mode only. NOT use sink mode.

Unfortunately the TPS65987DDK is intended for applications implementing a TBT4/USB4 architecture. 

One final question before I recommend a device is if you are wanting to implement any alternate modes such as DisplayPort? If no, then you may be able to use a standard USB Type-C controller, and do not need to implement USB Type-C PD since you are not using any of the power capabilities or alternate modes
