DS90UB954-Q1: Reduce shutdown current to minimum while using only one camera input?

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

Hi Team,

we are struggling with the IDDZ current. When checking the datasheet we found very high values. Is this really mA!?

Does it make sense or is it possible to disconnect the power supply from the unused FPD-Link Port?

And if this is possible does this help to reduce the shutdown current?

Appreciate your feedback.

Best regards,

Carsten

  • Hi Carsten,

The values for the shutdown current in the 954 datasheet are correct. I checked and there are no open tickets requiring any corrections to the values in that table.

It is not possible to disconnect the voltage rails to specific power supply pins in the device. All pins must be connected, according to the Pin Functions table and the Typical Application diagram. This is true even if only one camera input is used.

The only way to reduce the shutdown current when our device is powered-down is to use an external circuit. For example, completely cut-off the voltage rails being supplied to the 954 device by using a type of enable pin in the LDO that's providing the 1.8V voltage rails.

  • Hi Phan,

many thanks for your quick feedback.
