DS90UB949A-Q1: Is the configuration of my serializer is OK?

Part Number: DS90UB949A-Q1

Hello TI team,

My video pipeline is not working properly, could you please confirm me that my configuration is OK to use my serializer? (HDMI input 2048*1024, 139.5MHz pixel clock, 60Hz)

I2C initialization:

0x5B 0x03
0x16 0x02
0x05 0x04
0x5C 0x18
0x40 0x10
0x41 0x49
0x42 0x10
0x42 0x00
0x40 0x14
0x41 0x49
0x42 0x10
0x42 0x00

I2C dump:

0728.SERIALIZER_I2C_DUMP.pdf

Is the configuration ok?

Is the HDMI well detected?

Is the deserializer detected?

Thanks a lot!

  • Hi Rodde,

Since NDA devices were listed on public forum, I had to remove your other threads. Though, I hope you were notified via email with the preliminary response.

In depth debug will need to wait until the deserializer hardware is revised to current version. However, in parallel to that; there are several necessary and very important steps (verifying existing and creating proper scripts for SER/DES, ensuring proper strap modes on SER/DES, etc) needed to ensure successful bring-up of system once hardware is fully revised. While Olivier is OOO, I believe FAE Daniel Kociolek will be helping out with this next week; I will reach out to him to have him work with you to get us all relevant information.

    Regards,

    Logan

  • Hello Logan,

Yes I had the notification via email for the threads removed. Is the internal forum accessible for me to continue following up on these threads or just for TI team?

Our huge issue is that there is no availability of components to update our hardware, and we still don't understand why the CS2.0 cannot do the job.

Can you already share with me some points like the proper strap modes on SER/DES maybe? While waiting some feedback from Daniel.

    Thanks

  • Hi Rodde,

Due to US holiday, we are currently OOO. I will provide further response tomorrow when back in office.

    Regards,

    Logan

  • Hi Rodde,

Unfortunately, we can't go into further details of the non-public deserializer on public forum. Internal forums are only accessible via TI FAEs. I will work with Daniel to reach out in migration plan and provide necessary changes required to schematic/script.

    Regards,

    Logan
