TMDS181: Need to gauge the incoming HDMI signal quality with our embedded system

We are planning to use TMDS181 in a few intelligent switch products and will need to exercise the chip's internal high-speed signal monitoring functions to gauge the signal's quality. Can more information regarding this function be released? I believe we are talking about horizontal phase adjustment and vertical threshold adjustment features here.

Hi,

We have an EyeScan tool which can be used to generated an internal eye diagram when the TMDS181 is in the retimer mode, https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sluubk2/sluubk2.pdf. Would this fit your need?

The only limitation to the EyeScan tool is that the tool is tied to the TUSB3410 VID and PID. You can use the TMDS181 EVM which has the TUSB3410 on it and jump from the EVM to your embedded system.

Our embedded system is generally not running Windows. So, the EyeScan Tool will not help even if we can, reluctantly, add the TUSB3410 chip to the board. In addition, since EyeScan is a GUI-based tool, it's just hard to be integrated into a "fully automated" embedded environment. Could you send us the technical info?

I was thinking more of a system debugging in which you would have the EyeScan tool running on a Window PC to monitor the TMDS181 input eye performance, and not part of the "fully automated' embedded environment.

We do have an EyeScan app note that can be provided under NDA, but it will be provided as is since we no longer have the SW team to support it. Do you have a NDA with us so I can share this app note?

The other app note is pattern generator and verifier which the source can send a specific pattern and TMDS181 can then be used to verify the pattern, https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sllu294/sllu294.pdf.

Thanks for letting us know the maintenance status of the EyeScan tool. We should be good with the current functionalities provided by the tool. We should already have an NDA in place as a company. Can we take further conversation off-line?
