TPS25821: USB D+/D- Termination 200 Ohm Resistor

Hello Team,

I am working on Source only USB-Type C application. I am considering TPS25821 as power switch.

I was going through schematic of reference design PMP40270 where 200Ohm (R6 ) is used.

Please can you explain what is the use of this resistor?

In some Power only USB type C connector, these D+/D- are not provided. Are these pins required for source only application?

Hello,

Shorting the D+/D- lines together via a 200 ohm resistor implements DCP charging mode from the BC1.2 spec. Since the TPS25821 does not have built in BC1.2 support, the 200 ohm resistor allows for BC1.2 advertisement to legacy devices.
