SN65HVD1781: Differences with SN65HVD1781A-Q1?

Part Number: SN65HVD1781

Hello,

Got two short questions above the devices in the title:  Beyond the automotive -Q1 rating and slightly different operating temperature & ESD ratings, are there any functional differences between these two devices?

Also to clarify, the -A variant of the -Q1 device is functionally identical to the non-A, -Q1 device? (-A version is a direct upgrade/replacement?)

From my understanding & reading through the datasheets, there shouldn't be any issue using the SN65HVD1781A-Q1 as a drop-in replacement for the non-Q1 version (SOIC-8 Package)

Thanks!

  • Hi Tony,

For you first question: Not beyond the points of difference you noted - (some ESD/temperature differences and the Q1 declaration)

For you second question: Yes the -A/-Q1 is functionally identical. The A Version does have functional safety documentation linked for the device however (it doesn't really change functionality it just adds some more documentation)

You should be able to drop in SN65HVD1781A-Q1 for the non-Q1 version - its essentially the same part but with a more strict qual process due to the Q1 rating.

If you have any other questions please let me know!

    Best,

  • Parker,

    That answers my question perfectly.

    Thanks!
