SD1983EVK: Schematic file for this EVM

Part Number: SD1983EVK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH1983, LMH1981, THS3201

Hi Team,

Could you help share the schematic file for SD1983EVK? Thanks a lot.

Best Regards,

Tess Chen

  • Tess,

Schematics are in the EVM user's guide... I've attached them as a separate file here.

  • Hi Derek,

Thanks for the support. I have two questions for the application with LMH1981 and LMH1983 as below.

    • LMH1981 have 6 outputs OEOUT/BPOUT/CSOUT/VFOUT/VSOUT/HSOUT and the application only use three HVF of them to LMH1983. I wonder what's the application scenario for the left 3outputs?
    • Customer will have serval cards( card 1 and card 2 and card3)in series for their application.  Each card will have one pair LMH1981+LMH1983. The input for each card is the analog BNC input at PIN 4 Vin for LMH1981. They want know if they do series as the picture shown below, how to produce the analog BNC output for each card? We see there are Fout1-4 on LMH1983, should these output connect to next stage BNC input? Or the BNC should be created from FPGA? Thanks for the guidance.
  • Hi Tess,

The usage of those pins are described in the datasheet, their waveforms will vary with different video formats.

If the FPGA can reproduce the same analog video signal output to the next card, this is the preference solution as the output signal is jitter free.

Otherwise, you need some video amplifiers to distribute the video signal to the next card. Jitter will be carried forward to the next card.

  • Hi Noel,

Do you have any recommend video amplifier for this application? I see some doc mention THS3201 but I am not sure. Thanks a lot for the help.

  • Hi Tess,

you have to check this out from the amplifier team.
