Hi TI‘s engineers,
I meet a problem about TCAN4550 recently.
The tcan4550 transceiver uses an external 20MHz crystal oscillator, configured with a rate of 500kbps, and a communication message of 2mbps.
Configured according to TCAN45xxSoftwareUser'sGuide and 4550DataSheet, it is found that when the configuration is 500kbps and 1mbps, the communication can work normally, but when the configuration is 500kbps and 2mbps, it cannot be connected to the host computer and cannot communicate.
We configure as follows:
Prescaler: Rawvalue 1 Registervalue 0
Prop+Phase1: Rawvalue 7tq Registervalue 6
Phase2: Rawvalue 2tq Registervalue 1
May I ask if there is still a lack or mistake of configuration, which makes it impossible to configure 500kbps and 2mbps?
Hi Stanley,
We recently had a very similar question in the E2E thread linked below. Is this the same issue?
https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface-group/interface/f/interface-forum/1079953/tcan4550-q1-communication-fail-after-changing-data-rate-and-message-rate
If not, my comments will be the same here. Please investigate the interrupts that are reported by the TCAN4550 when communication fails. Also try to capture scope shots of the CAN bus during failed communication to see if there is any analog issue we can identify here.
Regards,
Eric Schott
