TUSB1146EVM: Can this device (and more generally, the chip it's based on) work in 'reverse'?

I am wondering if, by feeding a usb host in through the micro port and a displayport host in through that port, I can pass those signals in 'reverse' through the TUSB1146 chip. Please let me know if there are any details I can clarify, although I assume this is probably a cut and dry functionality question.

Hi,

The USB is bi-directional and can support 'reverse' function, but the DisplayPort is single direction and can not support 'reverse' function.

You can't, a DisplayPort sink is expected to be connected to a USB-C host. In this case, you can use the TUSB564 or the TUSB1064.

Hi David,

Thank you for your response. I am interested in providing a DisplayPort source through USB-C, where I have access to the DisplayPort signal lines from the GPU. Is there an IC I could use for that?
