Hi team,
I know VOD is related to voltage swing, should it be as large as possible?
and what's the relationship between VOD and DC gain?

Hi Fred,
DC gain sets the VOD or DC level of the signal. Please note we recommend using 0dB DC gain. This prevents any over-equalization of the signal. In cases, where we have very high loss on input of the device, DC gain can be increased. In all cases we have used, we did not need to change DC gain and it was always set at 0dB.

Hi Fred,
DC gain is the outside boundary of the eye diagram. This is mainly when we have long string of zero or one - hence DC gain. There are two types of linearity: DC and AC linearity. AC linearity is very important and more difficult to achieve than DC linearity. Please refer to the DS320PR810 evaluation result on secured folder for more information.
