DS90UB933-Q1: Video streaming / grabbing

Part Number: DS90UB933-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB934-Q1, , USB2ANY

Hi Team,

Good day! Posting in behalf of the customer. Here it is.

We have a camera with serializer DS90UB933-Q1 and we need to visualize the video stream. Our undestanding is that we need a DS90UB934-Q1 to have direct access to the camera.
We are struggling to understand how to visualize the video output from a PC/Laptop.

Can the Mini USB be used as video output?
Should we link the USB2ANY to the LVCMOS parallel video output?
As an alternative, should we need a direct connection to an external display?
Is there any other product we should use for your purposes?

Kindly help and thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Jonathan

  • Hello Jonathan,

Do you mean that you have the UB933 EVM and the UB934 EVM? and you want to output the video signal into your PC?

If that is the case, then this will not work in the way you are describing! The DS90UB934 has a parallel Interface. In order to output this signal as video into your PC, you will need to build or search for any converter on the market (if any) to convert the parallel interface to USB.

I know there are some people are using for example the UB954 Deserializer EVM and using a Raspberry-pi to convert from CSI-2 signal to USB signal.
