TPS65988: Application Customization Tool Run from Command Line

Hello TI Support,

I'm wondering if it is possible to run the TPS65988 Application Customization tool from the command line? I would like to be able to open a project and generate the binary without using the GUI for a CI/CD pipeline. Is that possible?

Also, I can see that it's possible to save the project settings as a JSON file (Project -> Export Settings as JSON). I don't see how you can load that JSON file as a project. Is that not possible?

Hi Cory,

you will need to run the GUI once to create the new project. you will then be able to use a command line tool to update the project as you want.

As for the JSON file, you cannot load this as a project. This only contains the configuration settings that sit on top of the patch data.

Hi Alan,

What is the command line tool I should be using? I tried to run the GUI application from the command line with different arguments and it just opens up the GUI.

Hi Cory,

Looking closer at what you are looking to do, we do not support a scripted configuration. Everything to set up is based on the GUI. I was thinking you wanted to read/modify the settings real time... to do this you would follow the I2C commands specified in the Technical Reference manual found here:

But this is after the binary is already created, using the GUI.

Yes, I am just trying to generate the binary with a script. It is alright that it isn't supported, I can do it manually. Thanks for looking into this.
