TCAN1051HG-Q1: Effective termination resistances range

Part Number: TCAN1051HG-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1051

Hi team,

How much is the effective termination resistances range of TCAN1051HG-Q1.

I found that it is 45-70ohm for TCA1043-Q1 on the another E2E thread.

Is it same for TCAN1051?

We need this value to decide the termination resistor value for stub nodes.

  • Hi Yuto-san,

We typically specify the driver characteristics of our CAN transceivers over a range of differential loads. We do this so that the behavior of the transceiver can be assumed across a range of different loads that may exist in various systems. For TCAN1051, the datasheet specifies the primary driver behavior across 50Ω < RL <65Ω. Additional specified behavior is also available up to a 45Ω load, though at this load the required Vdiff of 1.5V for CAN is no longer guaranteed.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Regards,
    Eric Schott
