DP83TD510E-EVM: technology discussion

Part Number: DP83TD510E-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB-2-MDIO

Dear ,

1. The basic communication test of T1L development board has been completed. I would like to ask how to realize PODL function on the board.

2. Power supply can be realized through a single pair of cables at the same time, but demo board cannot be realized by itself at present. Can it be realized through external connection?

3. There is a problem with the demo board. By default, THE RJ45 cannot link, so the jumper on LED0 J20 needs to be changed from mode 1 to mode 0 to communicate normally.

4. The usB-2-MDIO management tool is configured to log in to the corresponding Web without the option of downloading, so it is impossible to access PHY through USB as mentioned in the board guidance

  • Hi Cooper,

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

    Please find my replies below.

    1. We have some reference schematics for PoDL implementation. But as these documents are under NDA, we can't share them directly here. Can you please get in touch with your local FAE?

    2. We cannot realize PoDL with the present EVM through any external connection. You might have to develop a new board.

    3. LED0 strap controls the modes advertised. Please refer to the datasheet https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/dp83822i.pdf. This probably had to be changed for link-up due to mismatch between link partner and DUT speed capabilities.

    4. The website is now fixed. You can download the USB-2-MDIO tool now.
