TUSB2036: Does PWRONn affect DM and DP?

if the USB power is disabled using PWRONn pin, will the DM and DP pins still work?

I'm thinking about using the PWRONn pins like GPIOs in a custom design. I want to set the PWRONn pins to high or low without interrupting the data transfer.

I'd like to test it on an evaluation board, but I don't' see that an eval board is available for this part number.

Hi Rachel,

The PWRON pins of the USB hub will not function like GPIOs, they are controlled by the USB host controller using USB commands.

Due to the age of this product we no longer have a eval board available.

I realize they use the USB commands.

When I send a command to turn the power off on that pin, does that command also turn off the DP and DM on that port?

Yes, the state machine in the hub will be impacted if a port power off command is received.
