DS125DF111: MMIC

Part Number: DS125DF111

Is the DS125DF111 a MMIC? Is it Silicon Based? Is there any reason not to consider this device as a MMIC?

Monolithic microwave integrated circuit, or MMIC (sometimes pronounced "mimic"), is a type of integrated circuit (IC) device that operates at microwave frequencies (300 MHz to 300 GHz).

  • Hi Joey,

This is a silicon based device.  If the only criteria needed for a device to be an MMIC is if the device interacts with signals between 300 MHz to 300 GHz, then the DS125DF111 would be an MMIC.

However, from reading over the wikipedia article on MMIC, it seems to imply that MMICs are typically devices used in RF applications.  If this is a necessary criteria, the DS125DF111 is not an MMIC.

If there are any other criteria for MMIC that might relevant to how we classify the DS125DF111, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Drew
