Hi Expert,
If the input DSI data is discontinuous but the DSI clock is continuous, will this cause lock loss? Thanks.

Hello Elec,
Are you operating the 941AS in DSI reference clock mode?

Casey
Hi Casey,
Does it matter? You can explain both for DSI reference clock and external clock. Thanks.

Hello Roy,
Well if you are trying to run the system in DSI reference clock mode but the DSI clock is discontinuous then you already have an issue there because the DSI clock is required to be continuous for DSI reference clock mode. If the clock is not continuous then it doesn't matter what your reg config is - the lock will not be stable
If you are using external REFCLK mode then the DSI clock does not need to be continuous but the reg config needs to be set to discontinuous mode for it to work correctly. There will likely be video issues but not necessarily lock problems in that configuration

Casey
Hi Casey,
Sorry but I mean the discontinuous DSI data will cause lock loss or not. Seems that you are answering discontinuous DSI clk. Thanks.

Elec,
DSI data is always discontinuous. There is no such thing as continuous mode on the DSI lanes unless you use LRTE which is an optional feature in DPHY (not supported)
