TDA19988 replacement with TFP410

Hi Team,

Do to the TDA19988 being obsolete, looking for a replacement. I saw this e2e post: https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface-group/interface/f/interface-forum/1019757/does-ti-have-similar-solution-like-tda19988?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=TDA19988# so it doesn't look like we have anything similar, is that still the case?

Would the TFP410 possibly work? (aware there will be a re-design involved)

Greetings,

Unlike TDA19988, TFP401 does not support HDCP so these two parts are not functionally compatible. In summary using TFP410 would be a new design and features need to be reviewed.

Hi Nasser,

Thank you for the response, aware that there will need to be a redesign. Have you seen the TDA19988 be redesigned with the TFP401, or have you seen it be redesigned with something else?

TFP510 is probably the best replacement for the TDA19988, but I am not aware of anyone that did a replacement design.

Since TFP510 requires a HDCP, is the customer a HDCP license adopter?

Thank you for the quick response. I do not see a product page for the TFP510, could you share the link?

I am unsure of the customers status on HDCP at the moment.

We removed it from the TI.com since the customer needs to be a HDCP license adopter first. I am also working internally to figure out how the customer can order the part once they are the license adaptor.
