DS90UB960-Q1: write delay between 0x01 register and other registers

What is the procedure where they are doing a full reset with registers?  It would behave like a PDB so you need to wait at least 2ms before the I2C is available.

Hi Nick,

Due to the system's issue, they need to initial our 960 twice. At the second time, our 960 has been powered on, if they can't set 0x01=0x02 firstly, sometimes they can't initial 960 successfully, so at the second initialization, they firstly set 0x01=0x02, and then initial 960. After they set 0x01=0x02, delay 100ms, they can initial 960 successfully. When they decrease the delay to 32ms, the initial is failed because some registers can't be set successfully. So we want to know what factors will impact the delay? Is it related to the PCB layout or other things?

What is the fail condition they are seeing? How do they know that registers aren't being written correctly? Are they reading them back?

Hi Nick,

Yes, 960 can't bring up successfully, and then they read the registers back, some registers doesn't change and keep default value.

Hi Sherry,

If registers are being set back to the default value then I suspect the device is being reset for some reason.  Try to probe the power pins and PDB to make sure the power sequence is being followed and that power is stable.
