TRS232E: Can ceramic capacitor be used for TRS232E charge pump and power line?

Hello guys,

One of my customers is considering using TRS232E for their new products.
They have the following question. Could you please give me your reply for them?

Q, Can ceramic capacitor be used for TRS232E charge pump and power line instead of electrolytic of tantalum capacitor?
     We want to use size smaller capacitor.

    Hi Kazuya,

    Yes  that is okay to use ceramics- please see excerpt on page 8 of datasheet:

    Still recommend that the customer uses reference value for capacitor capacitance values - but it doesn't really matter if its ceramic or not. A voltage rating double what is expected will keep the ceramic capacitors from derating too much as well.
