TUSB1046A-DCI: TUSB1046AI-DCI

Part Number: TUSB1046A-DCI

Hello,

In my motherboard, I am using 4 x TUSB1046AI-DCI for 4 USB type C ports. 2 of the ICs are controlled by CYPD4226-40LQXIT. Our phase 1 design worked. We made some changes where we relocated the 4 x USBC to front panel and added a board to board connector from motherboard to front panel. The USB C traces increased slightly. We have two motherboards. On both of them port 2 display flickers and if we flip the USB C cable, it goes from good to worse. The other 3 work fine. We have Ubuntu and loaded the latest drivers. Port 3 has USB C issues.

Can this be related to the redriver settings? Right now the setting is 7.

We are using a COM express board as the processor card plugged into the motherboard. The SS USB and display port traces are all length matched. The SS trace lengths from processor card  to the TUSB1046AI-DCI are 6.5 inches, 7.4, 8.28, and 9 inches respectively. The display port traces from processor card to TUSB1046AI-DCI are 5 , 5, 6.2, and 6.3 inch groups respectively.

TUSB1046AI-DCI drivers to a front panel via MOLEX  761705010 and the mating connectors are MOLEX 761655104.

The total trace from TUSB1046AI-DCI  to the USB C connectors through the board to board connector l for the 4 ports are roughly 4 to 5 inches

Thanks,

Divakar
