DS90LT012A: Copper exposed on Leads of IC

Could you please comment on a exposed copper on sides of the leads in the below image ?

Is copper exposed because of uneven plating or by any other reason ? I believe this exposed copper undergo oxidation as we use this IC in our products, does copper oxide cause any problems/defects in the IC later?

DC : 2140 and Lot code : 1289837EM1

Hi,

After looking into this the image provided does no indicate a failure and does not affect the solderability or reliability of the part in most applications. During the punch out process, mold flash in the “flash area” can become dislodged and expose the copper leadframe.
