DS90UB924-Q1EVM: EVM board manual

Part Number: DS90UB924-Q1EVM

At present, the operation manual of 924EVM board downloaded from TI's official website does not match the real one. Is there an updated version of the operation manual?

Hope to get your answer, thank you!

  • Hello,

does not match the real one

Can you clarify what you mean by this? All the material on ti.com for the 924EVM are the latest release.

    Best,

    Shu

  • As shown in the figure, the layout shown in the user manual "DS90UB924-Q1EVM User's Guide" is not the same as the layout of the actual product received.

    Thanks!

  • Hello,

Thank you for sending pictures. I will need to look into this and check in with my team.

    Best,

  • Sorry, could you please tell me when you can give us the relevant reply? It is very important for us.

  • Hello,

Please see attached the original design files for the EVM. There is an effort to re-release the design and its supporting documents but no target date at the moment. Below are some known issues with the original design with recommended fixes:

    • There was a new circuit implemented on the previous revision of the board to try and latch the PASS/LOCK signals instead of having them just directly show the real time status of the PASS/LOCK. This circuit did not work like expected at all, so the entire circuit was bypassed by blue wire on the last build by making the following changes: Remove R70/R72, Install jumper wire to connect PASS/LOCK nets directly to the ERR_PASS and ERR_LOCK nets that go to the LEDs, and Disconnect Q on U10 and U12
    • In the IDX switch, the BOM did not correctly mark R41, R96, R1, R2 as DNP
      • Removed R41 and R96 since they are never needed to be populated
    • An extra cap C8 was added to CMF which is much larger than the recommended cap from the datasheet which caused stability issues
      • Removed C8 entirely since it is not needed and the CMF pin already has the required 0.1uF cap
    •  The U3 LDO schematic portion was missing a GND connection for the C29, C30, R44, C31, and C32 components so this needed to be blue wired

    Hope this helps,
