Hi Team,
The customer can measure waveforms in CANH and CANL, but no signal is detected in TXD and RXD. Could you please help with the analysis? Please help to review the schematic below. Thanks.

Hi Hailiang,
Please ensure the transceiver is properly powered at both Vcc and Vio supplies. You can confirm that the transceiver is in normal mode by measuring a CAN bus voltage of 2.5V when all other nodes are disconnected.
The schematic here is a bit confusing. The TXD pin of the transceiver is a digital input and should be connected to the TXD output of a CAN controller of the MCU (or other interface controller if the CAN protocol is not used). The RXD pin is a digital output and should be connected to the RXD input of the MCU.
When the TXD and RXD signals were measured, are the measured at the transceiver pins (U5) or on the far-side of the translator IC (U10)?
Is is possible to share the CAN data rate and CAN bus scope shots from this test? The circuitry on the CAN bus is a bit atypical and I would be interested to see how it is impact the analog signal.
Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime.
Regards,
Eric Schott
