TCAN1145-Q1: what's the driving ability(in current) of TCAN1145-Q1?

Part Number: TCAN1145-Q1

Hi,

As describe in title, and I found the table as below from datasheet:

how to understand that with driving ability?

thank you!

  • Hi Yuan,

The CAN driver in this device has an internal current limit on CANH and CANL. This protects the device from driving overcurrent in the case that there is a bus fault causing CANH and CANL to be shorted together or to some other supply rail (Vsup or GND). During the nominal case, the CAN driver will output a lower current proportional to the differential load on the CAN bus in order to create the differential voltage between CANH and CANL. The typical differential load of a CAN transceiver is two 120-ohm terminations in parallel (60-ohms total). This device is characterised over differential loads from 45-ohms to 70-ohms.

Let me know if this is the information you were looking for and if you have any more questions.
