DS90UB953-Q1: Calibration questions of 953

Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1

Hi Expert,

The customer is asking whether 953 has the calibration inside?

Why the 954 defined this,but 953 not?

The conditions that engineer encounter:

1.Using different data rate in same cable, can 953 calibration function be worked?

2.Using different cable length, can 953 calibration function be worked?

Can we test the 953 calibration function?

Any training materials is appreciated.

Thanks

Eric Lai

  • Hello Eric,

What calibration are you referring to exactly? Are you talking about calibration of the FPD-Link signals to achieve different cable lengths? This function is done solely by the deserializer side. The 953 output signal is fixed, and then the deserializer will adapt the RX equalizer + sampling strobe in order to optimize the link across different cable types, lengths, etc.

Also note that the FC frequency for 953 is fixed regardless of CSI-2 input data rate. The unused channel BW is padded with null data to compensate the difference.

    Best Regards,

    Casey
