Can LMH1228 be used like LMH1297?

Meaning SDI_OUT1+ as an input just like SDI_IO+ receive from a SDI source and mux the signal to OUT0+/-?

If yes, how to configure the register?

No this is not possible. SDI_OUT is an output only.
