DS16F95QML-SP: Worst Case Power Consumption Calculations

I am looking at making a absolute worst case analysis for this part, and I am curious if the output from the driver also influences the power consumption of the DS16F95QML. My system currently has 1 DS16F95QML driver connected to 3 DS16F95QML receivers. Do I need additional calculations on top of the Icc = 28mA when the receiver and driver are turned on? My impression is that is essentially the quiescent current. Please let me know if this information is sufficient or if more detail is needed.

Ben,

Thanks for reaching out on E2E. You are correct that while quiescent current should be considered, there is more to it, including the power consumed by the bus load (termination) and the power consumed by the AC load (capacitance) on the bus. This blog goes into detail on all the different considerations for calculating RS485 power consumption. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
