  • Hi,

There is no errata associated with the DP159, what specific issue are you seeing?

    Thanks

    David

  • I am seeing video dropouts where monitor screen occasionally goes black for a second.

    1920x1080P 60Hz - no drop outs
    1920x1080P 120Hz - see occasional dropouts.
I found a Xilinx question which referenced date codes prior to 5B. My markings are TI 0AI. Is my device newer or older than 5B?
    Thanks,
    Mark

70515 - ZCU102; ZCU106 - HDMI Transmitter Subsystem - Why do I have problems with connecting to some HDMI Sinks?

    DESCRIPTION

Why do I have problems with connecting to some HDMI Sinks?

The link can fail to connect or it can drop out during run-time, causing the display to flicker.

    SOLUTION

Some of the ZCU102; ZCU106 and ZCU104 boards were released with ES versions of the TI SN65DP159 HDMI Retimer needed for the HDMI Transmitter Subsystem.

These ES parts have a known inter-pair skew issue that can cause link issues with some HDMI Sinks.

The TI SN65DP159 ES parts are identified by the date code on the parts. If the date code is 5B or earlier then the part is a SN65DP159 ES part.

See the following forum thread from Texas Instruments for more information on reading the date codes:

  • Hi,

I will look into the date code and get back to you. Can you share your schematic?

Are you using the RGZ or the RSB package?

    Thanks

    David

  • RGZ package.

Cannot share on public forum. Private may be OK.

  • Hi,

The date code would indicate this is an Oct, 2020 part, so it is a new part.

Since this is a RGZ package, are you leaving TX_TERM_CTL floating?

I also sent you a friendship request, you can send me the schematic and layout file in a private message.

    Thanks

    David
