TPD1E6B06: TPD1E6B06DPLR Body Marking Faded

Our customer observe TPD1E6B06DPLR from the maker Texas instruments, AOI machine detect false call due to the body marking faded. Please advise able to tighten the laser marking and size of body marking. Is there any spec specified for the body marking?

Here are some suggestions from our customer side,

  1. Is that able to adjust the spec for the body marking as more deeper for laser mark of the body marking?
  2. Increase the size for each word of the body marking, can they request 3-4 pixel (45um or 60 um above) as more readable for AOI machine.

    This is interesting to hear that they are having a hard time with the marking. Here are a couple of comments

    1. 2 pin device: This is a 2 pin device so the pin 1 marking is a bar or line at the top section of the package, so pin 1 would be the pin on the top and pin 2 would be the pin at the bottom. Please help confirm that they are not looking for a "dot" as with other packages. They may have to adjust their AOI to look for this type of marketing

    2. Birdirectional - In case there is any concern about system functionality - you may also let them know that although we have specified the pin1 in the datasheet, this device is bidirectional and pin 1 and pin 2 can be interchanged without any impact to system functionality or protection capability of the ESD diode.
