Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TFP401,
Hi team
What is the difference between TFP401A and TFP401? My customer met the supply issue of TFP401A and I am wondering if TFP401 could be the drop-in replacement.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi,
The TFP401A includes HSYNC regeneration circuitry. This was required to be interoperable with the Sil154 that exhibited HSYNC jitter. However, the Sil154 is no longer on the market.
Thanks

Hi David
So it is working well for the customer to turn to populate TFP401 on their TFP401A board? Do you need their schematic and connection to determine it?
Hi,
It depends on the DVI transmitters. Some DVI transmitters introduce jitter on the transmitted HSYNC and VSYNC signals during the TMDS encryption process. The HSYNC signal can shift by one pixel position (one clock) from nominal in either direction, resulting in up to two cycles of HSYNC shift.
If the DVI transmitter does not have this issue, then you can use TFP401.
Thanks
David
