I want to know If the load cell output travels long distance, any booster circuit is required for boosting the signal before connecting to ADC?

  • Hi Sreejith,

It's hard to say whether you need a 'booster' circuit in your design or not because it depends on how long your distance is, the accuracy you want and also your load cell. There are many ways you can minimize the error from long lead wires of remote sensing by filtering, calibration or compensation in your data acquisition system (DAQ). If the accuracy still can not meet your requirement after all these solutions are done, a load cell amplification or conditioning circuity to increase measurement resolution and improve signal-to-noise ratio for your load cell output can be a good solution. In most cases, you can order a load cell with an amplifier or design a circuity by yourself.
