Hi Experts,

Good day. Seeking your assistance on this query:

I am trying to convert MIDI-DSI to RGB display interface but I'm finding it confusing and figured it best to ask for clarification as to ensure I don't order the wrong products. Currently I believe I can use "DS90UB941AS-Q1" to convert MIDI-DSI to FPD-Link III. Then I can use "DS90UB948-Q1" to convert FPD-Link III to LVDS. Finally I could use "DS90CF384A" to convert LVDS to RGB.

I wanted to clarify that this method would in fact work for my purposes or if I was mistaking the functions of any of the chips.

I also am concerned that each of the chips are supported together or if there is a possibility of them not working properly together or the signal being distorted through the number of conversions.

I also wanted to ask if you by chance have some product that could achieve my goal in a simpler manner.

Thank you.

Regards,
Archie A.

  • Hello Archie,

    You can simplify the signal chain even further by connecting:

    DSI -> DS90UB941AS-Q1 -> DS90UB926-Q1 -> RGB

    Instead of using 948 to output LVDS and then convert to RGB, using 926 will allow you to convert to RGB directly from 941AS

    Best Regards,

    Casey
