Regarding USB Vendor/Product IDs for TUSB3410

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB3410

Hi,

We have identified TUSB3410 as USB to UART converter chip in our design. We would like to know what is TI recommendation in terms of Vendor and Product ID values in the USB device descriptor? The section 5.6 of datasheet says that  "USB−IF and Microsoft WHQL certification requires that end equipment makers use their own unique vendor ID and product ID for each product (model). OEMs cannot use silicon vendor’s (for instance, TI’s default) VID/PID in their end products."

As getting Vendor ID registered with the USB IF will add  cost to this project.  Does TI provide an option to use TI vendor/device IDs?

Please let us know your suggestion!

Thanks & Regards,
