Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25798, BQ25792,
Can TPS25750 support BQ25798 instead of BQ25792?

Hi,
Unfortunately, the TPS25750 currently only supports the chargers available for programming on the Application Customization Tool.
If you have an EC in your system, you may be able to use the PD in a pass through mode to program the charger manually via I2C.
Thank you,
Hari
Hi Hari-san,
Since BQ25798 has the same register as BQ25792, is it possible to use BQ25798 by selecting BQ25792 in the Application Customization Tool?
Regards,
Kagawa
Hi Yoshinobu-san,
I think the issue would be that the PD controller's FW has pre-programmed the I2C Address for the BQ25792. Therefore, the address for BQ25798 is different and may require different programming I would assume.
Michael Emanuel35 could you confirm this compatibility?
Thank you,
Hari
Hi Hari-san,
Incidentally, BQ25792 and BQ25798 have the same slave address (7-bit address 0x6B).
Regards,
Kagawa
Hi Yoshinobu-san,
If that's the case, you could test it out but I cannot confirm if it would work as the TPS25750 formally doesn't support that device.
Thank you,
Hari
