TPS25750: How to calculate power consumption in different mode detailly ?

Part Number: TPS25750

Hi TI engineers,

I want recommend TPS25750D to customer for portable power bank application, they are  concerned about power consumption of USB PD.

so I want calculate power consumption of TPS25750D in different mode detailly for them, based on datasheet my calculate result is:

sleep mode :5V/2uA, 3.3V/56uA, total power consumption:194.8uW. right?

Idle mode: 3.3V/1mA, total power consumption: 3.3mW. right? why there is no current data of 5V, only for 3.3V?

Modern standby mode: power consumption show in table, I wonder what is Modern standby mode, when will it happens

  • Hi,

Our team member will get back to you as soon as possible.

    Regards.

  • The most important current measurement for the battery bank will be the two sleep currents.  This will be the power loss that the battery will see when there is no type C cable connected.  This will look like self discharge to the end customer.

When the battery is connected to a device that has been fully charged, then the standby currents will be the ones that will have to be observed.  They will be higher because the PD modem, power path, and all of the protection circuitry must be enabled.

    Regards,

    Chuck
