Hi,

Good day.

I had a quick question about TRS202E RS232 line driver/receiver. Do we need to use each line driver and receiver pair together or can they be swapped? For example, can we use DIN1/DOUT1 and RIN2/ROUT2 for one UART bus

    This device was designed for a RS-232 port that has two data signals (TXD and RXD) and two flow control signals (typically RTS and CTS). But all four channels work completely independently, so you can use them for whatever you want.

    Hi Cedrick,

    Clemens is correct - each driver/receiver is separate and can be used however (as long as within rec. op conditions). So yes connecting DOUT1 to RIN2 is equivalent to connecting DOUT1 to RIN1 etc. and is okay to do.
