TPS25772Q1EVM: Regarding flash the firmware image procedure for TPS25772Q1EVM-150

Part Number: TPS25772Q1EVM

I have a question regarding flash the firmware image procedure for TPS25772Q1EVM-150.

I'm trying the flash the firmware imege now.
The first part of the process goes well, but it stops at 98% progress and the following error message is displayed.
”SFWs retrn with task result Error: Incompatible ROM"

What should I do to resolve this error?

FYI, I used the upload keys and base firmware image which I received from TI sales representative.

  • Hi Ryusuke Nabeshima,

We also have found this issue, this seems to be related with the computer or something, and we still try to fix out it, I will let you know if we have some update.

So, could you please use the other two ways to update your firmware?

    Best Regards,

    Kuno

  • Hi Kuno-san,

    Thank you for your reply.
I tried the two ways to update the firmware you mentioned.
However I couldn't do them well.
7.1 TIVA I2C Programing of EEPROM
7.2 Aardvark I2C Programing of EEPROM

Regarding 7.1 TIVA I2C Programing of EEPROM, I connected the USB cable to micro USB port(J16), but connection status didn't change to "Connected".

Regarding 7.2 Aardvark I2C Programing of EEPROM, I clicked to "Add Adapters" of the Flash Center Software, however I couldn't see any ports.

If there is anything I can do to help resolve this, please let me know.

    Best Regards,
    Nabeshima

  • Hi Nabeshima-san,

Could you please tell me your email address? I want to send your a detail document to tell you how to fix this issue, you can try to do this.

    Best Regards,

    Kuno

  • Hi Kuno-san,

    Thank you for your reply.
My e-mail address it the following.

    Nabeshima

  • Hi Nabeshima-san,

I have sent it to you by email, thanks.

    Kuno

  • Hi Kuno-san,

Thank you for sending the document.
I'm trying to update firmware using the document as a reference.

However I'm not doing well at "6.3. Programming the Board (update with new Programming tool)".

I have downloaded "stellaris_icdi_drivers" from the following URL.
    www.ti.com/.../STELLARIS_ICDI_DRIVERS

But I can't find the “Stellaris Device Firmware Update” at windows device manager list.

Is there a way to install "stellaris_icdi_drivers" even if "Stellaris Device Firmware Update" does not appear in the device manager list?

Also, regarding "5.2. TI Provided Hardware Devices", I don't have the follwoing two items. I want to know how to get them. Are they commercially available?

    • Aardvark I2C flash tools
    • PassMark USB Power Delivery Test

    Best Regards,
    Nabeshima

  • Hi Nabeshima-san,

For the first question, can you please try to let your mouse in the 'COM5' and right-click, then choose the update file is 'stellaris_icdi_drivers'.

For the second question, the  'Aardvark I2C flash tools' is used to make sure '7.2 Aardvark I2C Programing of EEPROM' is ok, so you can not see any adapters, you need to buy one, you can go to the 'www.totalphase.com' to buy one. For the PassMark USB Power Delivery Test, it is a test equipment, I guess you may not need now.

    Best Regards,

    Kuno

  • Hi Kuno-san,

    Thank you for your support.
I have succeded EEPROM flash via TIVA USB port.
(7.1 TIVA I2C Programing of EEPROM)

After that, I tried firmware update from USB End Point again, but it didn't go well.
The update progress stopped at 87% and the following error message was shown.
"SFWs return with task result : Error: Reserved"

What is the reason why it doesn't work?

    Best Regards,
    Nabeshima

  • Hi Nabeshima,

So you can update the firmware via TIVA USB port now? it is a good new for me.

For the USB endpoint way, it is something wrong about this, please do not use it for now, when we fix this issue, I will let you know.

    Best Regards,

    Kuno

  • Hi Kuno-san,

    Thank you for your information.
I have understood that there is something wrong with the firmware update way via USB ENDPOINT.
I wait that you show me the correct way.

However our product have only USB type-C port, and we can't use other way of firmware update.
So I hope you let me know the correct way as soon as possible.

    Best Regards,
    Nabeshima

  • Hi Nabeshima-san,

Got it, I will let you know if we have any update, by the way, when you finish your schematic, please send it by FAE to me, I will help you review it.

    Best Regards,

    Kuno
